Some pics from Sunday's day trip to Koblenz, the German city where the Mosel and Rhine rivers merge. Right after our arrival, K and I had lunch at Restaurant im Pegelhaus. The building (Pegelhaus) was constructed in the 17th century and its purpose was to measure the water levels of the Rhine. Today it hosts a glass covered restaurant on the top floor from where you can see the waterfront as well as the fortress. We had asparagus with hollandaise sauce. The food was good but we were slightly offended by the waiter who assumed that he could keep the change as a (very genereous) tip. After lunch we visited the fortress (via cable car) where permanent and several temporary exhibitions were on. We weren't lucky with the weather but it was nice to be away from home for a day.
