Indian & Nepalese celebration | Luxembourg

This afternoon I attended AEIN's (Aide à l'enfance de l'Inde et du Nepal - an NGO) Indian and Nepalese celebration. This yearly event was previously known as the "Indian bazaar". The proceeds go to the different projects that the NGO supports in India and Nepal. They contribute to improving the local people's living conditions, empowering women, and giving people access to education, amongst others.

When I got there the audience was captivated by several dance and singing performances that were on.

Indian sweets

My mum, who was with me, and I bought a couple of goodies (not pictured): jewellery boxes, hand painted wine gift bags and soap.

This was my lunch: two vegetable samosas.

A few people got henna tattoos. I have never had one but maybe I will at the next opportunity.

  1. It's nice that the event also benefits such a worthy cause. Maybe you should try getting a henna tattoo next time. The one you showed is beautiful!

  2. This sounds like a fun event =o) And the food!

  3. That's such a great experience and it looks so nice!

  4. Hi Anouk,

This sounds like an amazing event. I love Indian and Nepalese culture and cuisine so I would like this event as well.

  5. Woah, I've always been fascinated by the Indian culture, which is why I would so love to visit India one day. Lovely photo diary!
