Earlier this week I had lunch at Amelys, one of the two restaurants at Le Royal, the five star hotel in the city centre.
Amelys opened in May last year after the hotel had undergone a major renovation. It mainly offers French cuisine with business lunch formulas from Monday to Saturday.
These are some of the appetizers that are part of the business lunch menu, which changes every week.
The restaurant is very spacious with a modern and elegant design. There is also a terrace which will open at the end of March.
These delicious creations on the right are by the pâtissier, Lionel Marchand.
For my lunch, I decided to order from the menu.
I started off with an orange with prawns on guacamole appetizer...
... followed by a very tasty Risotto Montecato.
My lunch date had a Caesar salad.
As you can see, the portions were quite big.
For dessert, I had a delightful mille-feuille.
Amelys is open seven days a week from noon until 11 pm (12.30 pm until 11 pm on Sundays). The service I experienced was impeccable, just as you would expect it in such a luxurious environment.
A brunch buffet is available on Sundays. I want to try it at some point but I've heard that you have to book quite a while in advance. And by the way, the restaurant offers free parking (entrance Boulevard Prince Henri).
While I was at Le Royal, I also had a look at the renovated Piano Bar. It is now brighter and more modern than it used to be.
I liked the different sections of the bar, especially this cosy corner.
A cigar room is now available too.
Le Royal is currently regularly hosting themed events, such as
Gin en folie
After work networking
If you haven't seen Le Royal's new look for real yet, I'd recommend that you pay a visit.
