On Saturday we had a family get together to celebrate the November birthdays of three family members, including mine (even though I had already taken my family to dinner a couple of weeks ago). This time we had Portuguese food at Lusitânia in Dippach.
The restaurant seemed to be a very popular place because it was packed throughout the entire evening. As soon as one table freed up, the next customers we there to grab it.
If I had known that the main course was going to be as huge as it was, I wouldn't have had these prawns as a starter. They were very good though.
A few weeks before I had eaten at Chiado, a Portuguese restaurant in Belvaux (see here). There I had tried their bacalhau Braga style. I chose the same meal here so I could compare them. This one was slightly different, less vegetables and less sauce but it was equally good. I can't really say that I prefer one or the other as both were really good.
My mum also had bacalhau but with mashed potatoes.
Others had the daily special which was bacalhau with baked potatoes. The portions were so big - I don't think that anyone of us was able to finish their plate.
Of course, we also had to leave room for dessert.
I really liked the pudding with caramel sauce. It's one of my favourite Portuguese desserts.
This dessert is called Molotov. It's a light flan and different from the pudding above. I didn't try it but will get one if I get the opportunity next.
Overall, we were happy with the dinner at Lusitânia. It's always nice when you try a new place and all goes well. In a couple of months we will have another family event to celebrate the December birthdays.
