A dream had come true

A dream had come true! Me at the World Trade Center in New York in 1996. As a child I had seen a photo of the Twin Towers in a geography book and it had left me in awe. I was a girl from a village dreaming about seeing the world.

A dream and a tragedy, I know someone who died there, and recently my step family was in town from Paris and they visited the new tower and the new plaza just opened which is stupendous and everyone has been snapping it on IG, but then today marks one of the worst days in American history....but I guess it is true when they say you can rise from the ashes...

  4. Yes, a terrible tragedy. I would go up the twin towers whenever I visited New York. A few weeks ago I went up the new tower. It was impressive but I couldn't help but feel very emotional. You can rise from the ashes but you never forget.

  5. I never got the opportunity to go up the Twin Towers, but visiting the WTC memorial and ground zero were quite emotional, as I could feel and see all that has been lost. It's one thing to hear about it and see on TV, but being present physically at the place where a tragedy happened, it somehow touches you more.

  7. It's nice that you got a chance to see the towers in person. I have such fond memories of it and this day always makes me so sad even though I was incredibly lucky that no one I knew who worked near there including my husband or my aunt were hurt. I still haven't visited the memorial yet because I will probably lose it.
