At last I get to do again what I love best: travel and blog! I am so excited to currently find myself in Las Vegas. It's the third time that I am visiting Sin City. It's so nice to be back, in the year of the Monkey.
Yesterday was Valentine's Day and I hope that all of you had a romantic day with your special someone. As previously mentioned on my Instagram account, I am single again and I got to spend V Day with the most important person in my life: myself! What happened? Well, I think that the start of 2016 has marked a turn for me and I reminded myself, yet again, that I need to take more responsibility for my life. For the past year and a half I had been in an on and off long-distance relationship and ultimately I came to the conclusion that I would rather be single again and concentrate on the things that are important to me and make me happy. So this is where I am now.
I am staying at Aria Resort and Casino for two nights. With 4,004 rooms, it's the 11th largest hotel in the world. It's a five star hotel but I have to say that it doesn't fully meet my expectations because the attention to upkeep detail is lacking. Apart from that, the room is comfortable, very spacious and with modern amenities. I don't think that I would stay here again though.
This is my room. I got to choose between a double queen or a king and I chose the former because supposedly it's larger. I picked the bed next to the window.
I totally love the automatic curtains that open and close at the push of a button.
I am currently sitting on that green chair writing this post.
This is the view - not facing The Strip but nice enough.
The bathroom is minimalist and I like the shower room which includes a bath tub.
I had been looking forward to the Mariah Carey #1 to Infinity show at The Colosseum for a couple of months. I have been listening to her ever since she released 'Emotions' in the 90s. I think that I even still have the CD single at home. There were a couple of touching moments during her show: she sang a virtual duet with a young Michael Jackson during I'll Be There. Her two children came on stage to wish her a happy Valentine's Day, which was very sweet. I thought that perhaps her new fiance would make an appearance as well but he didn't. There was however a young Las Vegas couple who came on and the guy proposed to his girlfriend in front of all of us. Luckily she said 'yes'!
I should have maybe got first category tickets to have a better view. The show was really spectacular though, the stage kept transforming constantly and there were uncountable costume changes. The Voice delivered a superb performance and I can't wait to see what it will be like when I see her in Luxembourg next month.
This is only the third leg of her residency. The next two legs will take place in June and August.
Today is President's Day. I will probably stop by Fashion Show Mall and enjoy a quiet day. Will blog more in a couple of days.
