Giallo: new Italian restaurant in Luxembourg

For the past few weeks, I have not been that active on social media. The truth is, nothing exciting has been going on and I have spent most of my days focusing on my job. I have skipped evening events because I felt too tired to attend them. The only times that I get to see daylight is during weekends but that's when I tend to stay in bed to recover from the preceding draining weekdays.

I am kind of hoping that this cycle is going to come to an end soon. Luckily days are getting longer again and to break the winter blues, I will soon escape to the US to fuel up on some vitamin D. I'm sure that during that trip and after I will be posting more regularly again.

Yesterday was another day where I would have loved to stay in bed all day long but I had some evening plans and I went to Luxembourg City for evening drinks with my blogger friend Juliet at Octans. There we bumped into Anna, another blogger, and it was a pleasure to see her as well.

After the drinks I went to Giallo, a new Italian restaurant for a girls' dinner. We had the lower area of the restaurant to ourselves and I shared a table with a group of bubbly Polish girls.
The menu wasn't huge but it made it easier to choose the dishes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were more than just one vegetarian option.
The decoration was unique - one wall consisted of a waterfall.
This was the hors d'oeuvre to share: vegetable tempura and fish balls. There was another hors d'oeuvre which came with meat but I didn't have it.
My starter: Potato flan with cod quenelle. It was really good!
My main course was pasta stuffed with aubergines and creamy burrata mozzarella. Another good choice that I had made.
As you can see, the food looked really good and so was the quality. The white wine we had with the meal was excellent I finished it off with an espresso. The service was friendly and attentive. Giallo is definitely not your average Italian restaurant. The dishes are carefully prepared, visually appealing and rendering a modern and sophisticated version of Italian cuisine.

  8. I tend to prefer when restaurants have smaller menus cause it's easier to choose and they usually excel at their specialities. Everything looks so delicious!

  14. The Italian restaurant sounds interesting. I also had Italian food on the weekend, and to be honest I am looking forward to my trip to Rome in the end of March, so any Italian food or whatever Italian is welcome.

  22. I've had days like that, especially if it's really cold out and I get from work late, I just feel so knackered that I don't want to get dressed for events. The stuffed aubergines look delicious. Enjoy the travelling. <3 /Madison

  24. I love discovering new restaurants! Sadly in my area all Italian restaurants are basically the same, catering heavy pasta dishes and not enough diversity on their menus. The items you'd ordered look really tasty. As for not feeling like socializing on social media, I totally understand you. It is a bit hard to find the energy to do all that and to blog when you've had a long week at work. I hope that you will soon find the energy to do all the things you wish :) Looking forward for your trip to the US!
