Echo Park | LA

Echo Park had been on my to go list for ages. Finally, I took the time to stop by. To be honest when I got there, I thought twice about getting out of my car because I wasn't too sure about what kind of people I would run into. But in the end I told myself that I hadn't driven all the way there to drive off again. There were some tourists, some locals; they were working out, fishing or just having some quiet time. I walked all around the lake, soaked up some sun and took way too many photos of palm trees.

  6. I would have taken way too many photos of the palm trees too. The park looks lovely, it reminds me a bit of the Athens National park. I wouldn't mind spending a whole sunny day there.

  22. Haha there is something about the palm trees. When you think one picture would be enough, you end up having a collection of them. Don't you hate that self doubt? Like "why am I even here? I should just have stayed home" type of mentality, until you have to force yourself and remind yourself of the reason why in the first place you wanted to come. Looks like after all it wasn't a wasted drive there! Love the photos, Anouk!

  28. Those are awesome photos. I've never been to echo park, but I heard it used to be a rough neighborhood. Today I think it's been completely gentrified.
