At last I got to eat at Beet! On Sunday, K and I had Sunday brunch at this vegetarian and vegan restaurant that opened last year. I definitely liked the minimalist modern interior. If COS opened a restaurant, that's what it would probably look like.
There were two brunches to choose from: vegetarian and vegan. I picked the vegetarian one and personalized it with orange juice, cappuccino and a spinach feta concotte. From the menu I thought that it would be light and that I'd probably order an additional dessert. Much to my surprise the food that was part of the brunch was sufficient. I started off with the baguette and the cheeses. Then came the spinach feta concotte. By the time I was about to have the mini croissant and pain au chocolat, I was already full.
I didn't try any of the jams but the chocolate spread was very delicious. The spinach feta concotte tasted good but it was a bit too soupy. K had a tomato feta concotte which was not as liquid. I did share this with the staff when I was asked how the food had been. They took it on board.
The service was fine, a bit frosty at the start but it kept improving during our stay. It was a bit strange to have the baguette and pastries without a plate... we laid out napkins in front of us and that had to do.
The brunch was alright but if I return, it will be to try their veg burgers. I'll be(et) back.
