Memories of... Mumbai

I am breaking my blogging break with these photos that I took many years ago when I visited India. I can really see how much my photos have changed over time. It's quite striking what a difference shooting in RAW and lenses can make. If I had to revisit the same places today, my photos would look completely different. I'm not saying that they'd be better, just very different.

What happened to my blogging routine? Well, I took a short break. It wasn't planned, it just turned out to be that way. I have been very busy with work and planning my upcoming trips to the US and the UK, which I am super excited about!

  26. Despite being so close to India, I've never quite made it there and your photographs have me wishing I could go right now!
I feel you on the photography thing though. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could revisit places I've already been to solely for the purpose of taking photographs the way I do now!

  32. They're beautiful photos nonetheless, but I know what you mean. It would be the same for me if I ever revisit India. I lived there 11 years ago. In Bangalore, that is. I heard from a colleague who's originally from there that it has changed a lot. It's dubbed as the Silicon Valley of India. I would definitely be taking photos in a much different fashion. Thanks for sharing.

  52. When I look back at my old photos, I also feel the same - that my photography has improved. I really want to continue improving myself in that department, and I will agree - shooting in RAW has helped tremendously! What kind of camera do you currently use? Mumbai has some very pretty architecture! What is that palace?

    ReplyDelete
  53. If you mean the building with the clock, it's Victoria station. I am currently using a Canon 100D and a Sony mirrorless. What about you?

    ReplyDelete
  54. The 'palace' looks better from the outside, if I remember correctly :)
When I was looking for an SLR, I wanted to buy a Nikon but for some reason I got a Canon and now, almost ten years later, I can't imagine using a different system. I guess that once you have your lenses and know how the settings work (Nikon and Canon are very different), you tend to stay with the one you are familiar with.
