After our visit to Lunéville, K and I drove to Nancy. Initially, we just wanted to have lunch there and move on to Vittel, but once we were in Nancy, we stayed there for the rest of the day. The city was bustling with people. It was quite a different view from what I experienced when visiting on a Sunday three years ago (see my post here).
The photos that I am showing here are mainly of Place Stanislas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Personally I think that it's one of most beautiful squares that I have ever seen. The Hôtel de Ville was open for visitors and from its balcony we got a great view of the square.
K and I had lunch at Les Frères Marchand, which specializes in Lorraine and Alsatian cuisine. We shared a Flammekuchen with the restaurants' own cheese Le Gros Lorrain. It was absolutely delicious. The potato rösti were good but only lukewarm when they were served. While I would return to this restaurant, I would also like to try the restaurants in the rue des Maréchaux (last photo) one day.
