Sometimes a Fantasy

Yesterday I checked out Chelsea Market, a nice place with lots of shops and restaurants. I bought gifts for friends and got myself cookies at Eleni's, which I posted on my Instagram but devoured them so fast that I couldn't take a proper photo of them to show here.
I had a shrimp taco at Takumi, a Japanese Mexican restaurant. It was really good but I should have eaten two as I was still hungry afterwards.

In the afternoon I went to see Perfect Crime, the longest-running play in New York. It has pretty bad reviews but I wanted to see it because the same leading actress has performed in the play since 1987! And she has never taken any holidays or sick days. She has only missed four performances to be at her siblings' weddings. I found this so incredible that I had to see it. It was entertaining but unfortunately I have to agree with the reviews.
My true highlight of this trip was Billy Joel's concert at Madison Square Garden. It has always been my dream to attend an event at this venue and finally it came true last night! Everything was so impressive. I had a comfortable seat at the Madison Club, which was at the back of the stage but the view was still good. On the same floor there were lots of private suites and I saw delicious sushi and gourmet dishes being served in there. One day I need to get one of these.
Billy Joel played most of his greatest hits, including The River of Dreams, Piano Man, and my favourites; Uptown Girl and Only the Good Die Young.
The piano was on a rotating platform which I also found so cool.
I had a great time and I'm so happy that I could experience this.

Now I'm going to have Chinese for lunch. Happy Lunar New Year to those who celebrate this!

  16. I hadn't heard about that play in New York. The actress sounds like a boss, even if the play wasn't that great haha!

  17. Chelsea Market looks fabulous, I would eat more of that shrimp taco. Attending a concert at Madison Square Garden must be surreal. Listening to music there with all that people must be so memorable.

  20. Chelsea Market is one of my favorite places in NYC. I don't visit all that often since I don't live in the neighborhood anymore but I must get there soon. I've heard about those tacos at Takumi and the one you had looks really tasty. The Billy Joel concert looks awesome too!
