My skincare and make-up routine

Today I am going to show you the beauty products that I use on a daily basis.
Face wash
I start off by washing my face either with Nivea's Refreshing Facial Wash Gel or Nivea's Peel Soft Mild Scrub. Next, I use a Clearasil Refreshing Pad in order to make sure that my skin is completely clean.
I occasionally apply Shiseido's Day Moisture Protection as well as StriVectin-WF on my forehead to minimize fine wrinkles.
I have discovered Paul & Joe's Moisturizing Foundation Primer through this little sample on the left. I use one layer all over my face including eyelids. Unfortunately this product is unavailable in Luxembourg but I recently bought a full version when I travelled to London.

Next, I apply foundation. I have been very happy with Givenchy's Teint Couture which depending on the shade I need, I blend it with Sephora's Perfectiong Cover Foundation. As Sephora had run out of Teint Couture, I have bought Yves Saint Laurent's Teint Resist. It's as good as Givenchy's.
After one or two layers of foundation, I finish with loose powder Poudre Majeure Excellence by Lancôme.

During the day I maintain the matte look with Poudre Majeure Excellence, pressed powder, also by Lancôme.
Eye shadow
Next up are the eyes. I use Color Focus eye shadow by Lancôme. For smokey eyes, a look that I rarely wear, I also resort to Lancôme: Ombre Absolue Duo (My dear Montmartre).
To fill my eyebrows, L'Oréal's Brow Stylist does the trick.
I could skip all make-up products, but one item I cannot go without is black eyeliner. My favourite is the Super Liner by L'Oréal. Sephora's liquid eyeliner also yields very long-lasting results. Next I am going to try Yves Saint Laurent's Shocking eyeliner pen, which I recently purchased.
Since November I have rarely used any mascara. Nowadays I wear falsies on most days. When I do put on mascara, I really like Le Volume de Chanel, or Boots' No 7 Extreme Length. I have previously tried Diorshow and I would rebuy that one again.
I have been faithful to Lancôme's Blush Subtil for years.
For a discreet look, I use Chanel Rouge Coco Superstition (38). Most of the days I wear Chanel Rouge Allure, either Surprenante (129) or Séduisante (91). They look quite alike. For bolder statements, I like to apply red lipstick: Rouge Vibration by Lancôme or Revlon Colorstay Red Velvet (345).
Taking it all off
Even when I am extremely tired, I diligently follow the same routine at the end of the day (or night). Remove eye make-up, use cleansing milk and wash gel on my face. The last steps include Clearasil refreshing pads and a generous application of night cream. I am currently using Nivea anti-wrinkle cream but I make sure that I rotate between brands (Lancôme, Clarins, Dior, Guerlain, Shiseido, Clinique).

  1. I always love these types of posts, it's interesting to see what others use in their daily beauty routine. I like StriVectin products.

  4. I am a big fan of Nivea products as well. Unfortunately in America the selection is very limited. I discovered on Hong Kong based website called Sasa. They have a huge selection of all things beauty including many Japanese and Korean brands that are only available in Asia! I highly recommend you to check it out. They also stock alot of Sheseido products (I am a fan, too). Check out Dove foaming facial wash! One of the best I have ever tried!

  5. My skin care is terrible right now... I definitely know I need to be doing a better job of washing my face in the morning and at night. especially at night. Anyway, thank you for sharing! My makeup routine is similar:)

  6. i love how you have a pink, nude and red with the lipsticks.. that's like me too!! :D
oh and i wish i can do a wicked eyeliner like what you do. i can never use those eyeliners, i always end up with uneven eyes, haha!

  9. Hi Anouka, you have a really great skincare and beauty routine. Ive used some of the products you also use, for example the Nivea ones are so good and ones of my fav. I cant stay without eyeliner either, the L'Oreal one is my fav too, I need to buy it again as after it no other satisfied me as that one. You know, I never used false lashes, Im a mess with them!:) Kisses! xo

  11. I love posts like these! Seems you're a huge Lancôme fan, with the exception of Juicy Tubes I've never tried their make up!

  16. Ooh I love reading & seeing skincare + makeup posts like this! Love using Nivea products, they're always reliable! I used to use the Shiseido lotion, the night cream one & it instantly became one of my favs.

  17. Nice to see a beauty related post on your blog from time to time ;) However I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to Nivea and Clearasil face care products but when they work for you that's just fine ;)
When it comes to Essie nail polishes, they may not be taking over the world, but they're definitely worth their money ;)

  18. Nice review, Nivea products are very good for skin :)
