  2. Super interesting again! I like that you put the right answer on the US border. "What are you" pff, what a question! I hate people who have prejudices about origin, skin colour, etc.

  4. Really great words and also nice to hear that this test didn't change what you think about yourself :)

  5. That is a really nice article. I'm also adopted and know roughly what I am although not entirely like sure. (Like I can't say I'm 80% this and 15% that like some people can). But I don't think that really has an effect on me though because I carry a part of my Chinese heritage with me and I also know that since I grew up in America, that I am also American. What are your thoughts on this?

    1. I would say that if you are curious and want to know the details, the DNA test can provide it for you. I found out the percentages of the ethnicities that are part of me but I deliberately omitted them from the column because it is kind of irrelevant. It's nice to know that you have the option to take such a test. At the end of the day, what matters is that you are happy with who you are and make your decisions accordingly. xo

  7. Wonderful column piece Anouka! I agree with the '...power to be what I want to be.' I must say this is by far my favourite in your column entry. Well done saying that to the US Border Patrol. Not highly recommended, but sometimes they do need to be spoken to the way they handle their line of questioning.

  8. The question "what are you", I find at times can be annoying, but yeah, I do get what they are asking. But your answer is correct, a human being :)

    Congratulations on the feature!
