Portuguese lunch at Laguna

On Sunday I had lunch with my parents and other family members at a Portuguese restaurant in Differdange. The last time I ate Portuguese was in Hamburg last August. (Not sure why I look so miserable in this photo - after one G&T I felt quite merry!)

We were served these yummy fish cakes. I could have had these for lunch alone and been happy for the rest of the day.

My mum was looking after Balou, our furry friend, and he came with us to the restaurant.

This was the starter: fresh prawns with garlic.

Everyone had pork as a main course but since I don't eat meat, my dad ordered bacalhau for me.

The portion was huge and I could only eat half.

Such a great meal wouldn't be complete without chips!

For dessert I had Portuguese flan which was really nice.

Once home I went on a five hour afternoon nap!

  27. I've never even seen a restaurant serving Portuguese food before! Sounds like such a nice time out, too. So good on you for not eating meat! -- The seafood was someone else's then?

  29. When we visited Portugal a few years ago I remember enjoying the food there. Your meal looks so fresh and tasty. I'm sure I would have selected the pork and the flan too. There is certainly a range of cuisines in Luxembourg.
