22 hours in Paris

On Monday I travelled to Paris to meet a friend, do a bit of shopping and have a dinner date.

I met for lunch with my friend T at Ebis, an Asian restaurant near of Rue Saint-Honoré. I had the lunch menu: tofu soup, salad, and spicy prawns with rice. The Taiwanese Ambassador to France was also having lunch there and I felt honoured when T introduced me to him.

My dinner date was at Kong, where last year I had lunch with Tiffany of Leftbanked. My date was very unhappy with the service and didn't hesitate to let the staff know.

The food was good though. I had the tuna steak. Although I had asked for it to be rare, it was served well done.

For dessert we shared the nems au chocolat.

We had one more drink at the bar, where my date had another go at the staff because they wouldn't let him change his order. But in the end he got what he wanted.

I bought these Ferragamo shoes at Galeries Lafayette. They will be perfect for summer.

  1. Paris is always so lovely. Your shrimps meal looks so delicious. I guess Kong is so busy now to have really bad service. I hope Kong will improve their service. They can't run their place like that.

  2. Oh I wish I had met you :) About the Kong : Horrible service is recurrent. I had a few problems like the girl rolling her eyes at me because I asked for bread...I was like "excuse me, am I bothering you ?" Anyway !

  20. I really need to book another trip to Paris if only for a weekend. You are fortunate to live near enough to vist for just 22 hours. Just looking at your fabulous photos makes me miss this enchanting city. Fabulous shoes in a neutral shade which will be so wearable and versatile too.

  21. I must be one of the very few who isn't a big fan of Paris, but whenever I go there for work, I make sure I stop by Rue Saint-Honoré. I love Ferragamos and have kept my old black ones with kitten heel. I love yours, very pretty and dainty. Would love to see a photo of you wearing them :)

  23. What a wonderful 22 hours! Beautiful photos of the architecture. Sorry to hear about the service at the place -- I run into so much trouble at restaurants (being a vegetarian) when I ask over and over that a dish has no meat or fish, yet it ends up having SOME type of meat.
