Chocolate heaven (Berlin Day 3)

Monday was a cold and rainy day. I briefly popped into Galeries Lafayette, which is just a stone's throw away from my hotel.

Somehow it is connected to another shopping centre, see above. I was looking for a place to have brunch. I had read about Fassbender & Rausch on Tripadvisor and I was curious to try it.

There is a shop on the ground floor and a restaurant just above. I had walked into chocolate heaven.

The hors-d'oeuvre was chocolate cheese (?) cream with chocolate bread.

I went for a vegetarian main course: pumpkin potato ragout with cheese and guess... chocolate! The combination was a bit unusual but it tasted nice.

If my Italian friend R knew that I had a cappuccino with my lunch, she would have cringed...

My dessert was a mousse sphere.

It was incredibly delicious! I would really recommend it. They also had a tiramisu creation and I may go back to try that one another day.

After this chocolatey lunch, I had a look at their shop, where they had many sculptures made of, what else, chocolate.

Some marzipan impostors.

Right from the pink tarte is the tiramisu dessert that I would like to have on another occasion.

In the afternoon I went to KaDeWe, a large luxury department store, which I regretted not visiting when I was here for the first time several years ago.

I really like the Versace tableware. Isn't it gorgeous?

More Berlin photos to follow tomorrow!

  18. Chocolate sculptures? Versace tableware? Oh my goodness, talk about luxurious. I don't think I'd ever be able to own such expensive tableware since I'm such a klutz. It is really beautiful to look at though *o*
