Essenza

Some photos of my Friday dinner with F. We went to Essenza (formerly Apoteca) and had previously agreed that we would keep the evening short as we both had things to do on Saturday.

I had been to this location before but there are so many rooms and levels that it was the first time that I found myself in this cosy corner.

This was my drink of choice, a Caipirinha, what else?

A little veggie amuse-bouche to start off...

I had breaded scampi with steamed vegetables and potatoes. I enjoyed this meal very much, even though the scampi could have been a bit crispier.

F had tagliolini with sauteed beef.

Although we had wanted to keep the evening brief, we ended up at Urban bar until midnight. I met two sleazy French guys that I had to run away from in the end. They were very touchy and asked me lots of personal questions. Yuck! It had been my mistake to talk to them first. Not going to do that again.

  1. Hmmmm prawn scampi sounds delicious! That would probably be the dish I ordered! Speaking of seafood, I am craving some this week so I probably will be heading to my fav Japanese restaurant for some sashimi soon :)

So sorry you had a bad run-in with some sleezy guys. I can't believe they got all touchy feely, I would feel so grossed out by that. At least you got away.

  12. The place looks really cosy indeed! And the food as well. I love scampi , last time I had was last summer in Greece. Usually I avoid talking to strangers and those type of questions are really annoying.

  33. Gross, I'm glad that you were able to get rid of them. Your food on the other hand, is the complete opposite of that---it looks scrumptious! And you know how I know it's good? The plate is so much bigger than the food portion!
