Windsor Atlantica Hotel

This is my final Rio post, in which I show you some photos of my hotel. I stayed at the Windsor Atlantica in Copacabana, a five star hotel which is currently ranked third on Tripadvisor for hotels in Rio. I was also excited to learn that the England football team (that I will be supporting) will make it their home during the upcoming World Cup.

I am very picky and I will immediately notice any faults, be it a bit of dust or a hair. This room was spotless.

The view wasn't great as I could only see two centimetres of the beach but I wasn't going to sit at the window looking outside all day.

Most hotel bathrooms (that I get) don't have much space to put my toiletries and wash bags on but in this case, I had more than enough room.

The view from the breakfast room right onto the beach was amazing. The couple of times that I managed to get up early, i.e. at 6 am, I was lucky to catch the beautiful sunrise.

The tall building is the hotel. There were two outdoor swimming pools: one on the fourth floor (see photo below) and one on the roof (37th floor).

From the rooftop you can see Copacabana beach...

Sugarloaf mountain...

... and the Christ the Redeemer statue (right).

I really enjoyed to watching the sunset at around 7.30 pm whilst drinking a caipirinha. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again if given the opportunity.

  1. The hotel room looks great, the two pools as well, the view from the 37th floor is stunning, what more can I say? But 6 a.m.? When on a vacation - no way! I guess the difference between the time zones is the reason, but still can't imagine it. You took lovely shots, I really enjoyed all your posts from Brazil!

  21. You and I are very much alike when it comes to hotel. I NEED the room to be clean. I can't stand dirty room especially with personal items like sheets and towels. Whenever I travel, I often spend the most on accommodations. Alot of my friends laugh at how "wasteful" I am. They say "you just sleep there, why bother spending money on rooms?" For me, nothing beats a goodnight sleep. Only if I am rested, cleaned and feel good physically can I enjoy my days. To each of their own but I continue to require high standard on accommodations :)

  23. The neutral tones of your hotel room are so restful and I'm very picky about rooms being spotless too. One of the highlights for me would have been the amazing view from the breakfast room. A great way to start the day and a caipirinha is the perfect way to end it too!

  27. It looks like an awesome place to stay at, and such a wonderful hotel. I'm a pool freak and I can personally say I would have enjoyed being there...
Anyway, I also loved the view. And although you couldn't get that much of a nice one in your room, what you said it's true, you weren't going to sit there the whole day. xx
