Sugarloaf Mountain

It was a good idea to visit Sugarloaf Mountain just before sunset. You have to make two cable car trips, in order to get to the top. The whole experience was a mix between the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (the journey) and Victoria Peak in Hong Kong (the view).

Watching the sunset is just one of these few moments in life where time stops, nothing else matters and life is perfect. You can see the Christ the Redeemer statue on the right mountain.

The gift shop was selling some very cute handmade souvenirs. I would have loved to take home these miniature shops or kitchens but I doubt that they would have survived the suitcase journey home.

These last two photos were taken in Botafogo just shortly before I walked into the tunnel and got mugged (as described in my previous post).

I have one remaining post about my trip to Rio where I will show you photos of the hotel I stayed at.
