Favela and Tijuca Forest tour

On Wednesday I visited a favela and Tijuca Forest with a guide and two tourists from Saudi Arabia. We drove through the favela but didn't stop. When we got to the forest, we visited a waterfall and stopped at a panoramic view site. The guide, Alberto (from the favela we visited), was quite a charmer and entertainer. He had me in stitches all the way through.

During the afternoon I went back to the city centre to find a place for lunch.

I found a restaurant called Parmê (I think it's a chain) where I had 5 seasons pizza and a caprese salad. The pizza was very salty but alright.

Back in Copacabana I had a dessert at Yogoberry, which was so so.

  28. I hopped over from the lovely Lilli's blog.

You have captured the essence of Brazil quite well. I'm not very knowledgeable about Brazil and all images I have of that country is from the movies. I didn't even know where the favela and Tijuca Forest were but from the pictures, I imaged Brazil and true enough, I found my answer from the trusty Google!

It is really cool to visit a shanty town and capturing memories of the people there. I wondered how it is like for them to live there. Great photos! I would love to have a charming and entertaining guide should I ever visit Brazil too!

    Have a lovely Sunday!
