The Honours (Edinburgh)

Before travelling to Edinburgh, my plan was to have dinner at Restaurant Martin Wishart, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Leith, so I made a reservation. When I turned up at the restaurant, they didn't have any table for me as my name wasn't on their list. What had happened? I didn't know that Martin Wishart had two restaurants. And I had made the reservation for the non-Michelin one. I was a bit embarrassed about my mistake but the staff was very kind and ordered me a cab to take me to The Honours.

I received a very warm welcome and being half an hour late didn't seem to be a problem. There were many appetising dishes to choose from. I had a tuna tartare as a starter...

... followed by mozzarella risotto with nuts. It doesn't look that nice but believe me, it tasted really good!

I have seen very few restaurants where the staff is so attentive and the service so prompt. Even though the evening hadn't started out great, I was happy to have experienced dinner at The Honours and I would most definitely recommend this place.

  15. Sounds like the people working in both restaurants are just too lovely :)
Also I wanted to ask if there would be the chance to see you tomorrow at Belle Etoile? You might know Anne from Anne´s Kitchen (I had also written a post about her blog) who will be signing her new cookbook and I´ll probably go there with my sister :)
