Another restaurant post today. On my way home from Edinburgh, I had a five-hour stop in London. Instead of hanging around boring Terminal 1 at Heathrow (not as exciting as Terminal 5), I thought it would be more fun to have lunch somewhere in Central London. I decided to go for the Bluebird restaurant in Chelsea.
Just to be clear, Bluebird is not an Indian restaurant. The majority of their menu consists of European cuisine. However, because I like to order what I feel like in the moment, I went for a tiger prawn and monkfish curry, served with basmati rice and poppadoms. I had buttered spinach as a side.
For dessert I enjoyed a baked New York cheesecake with blueberry compote.
The service throughout the lunch was perfect. The welcoming part was a bit awkward when I was made to wait in the bar area and a hostess asked me if I wanted to have a drink. Instead of ordering it for me, she kept arranging the lighting and didn't help me find out when my table was ready. I would, regardless of this minor incident, eat there again though.
